Python and XUL - a symbiotic partnership

I’ve been reading what’s upcoming in Firefox (via the Roadmap Scratchpad) and one of the most interesting items to me is the integration of Python as an additional option for XUL software development. The current plan is early 2007.

I see this working to help both Firefox and Python.

From the Firefox side, a lot of developers don’t like javascript (including me). Adding Python will encourage more XUL development, and further adoption of Firefox.

From the Python side, it will provide a cross-platform technology for building desktop applications that is currently not readily available.

It seems to me that Python is spreading all over.
