Saving Money - Swindon to London
Posted on April 3rd, 2006 by Tim Almond
Checking the National Rail website, the price of a journey from Swindon to London (to arrive at a time around 10:30) is just ridiculous:
£79. For a 160 mile journey. Somehow, Germanwings can operate flights from Stansted to Stuttgart (over 800 miles) for less.
There is a cheaper way. For some reason, Hungerford, which is about a 30-40 minute drive from Swindon costs about a quarter of the price, costing £17.80. Even at peak the fare is less than half at £33.
It does add to the driving time, but even costing in my time and petrol, it’s still worth it by a long way. And parking in Hungerford is cheaper too.
Just did a Google search for my website m*ney sw*ndon & this page came up before mine. Bizarre!
