More Ubuntu
Latest Ubuntu updates…
First off, some instability. Not good. Changed the boot parameters in GRUB to include NOAPIC NOLAPIC and it is far more stable. However, I cannot find any explanation of what these actually do.
Then the Zen Nomad Jukebox. No play. There is a piece of synchronisation software called Gnomad which is designed to work with Linux. Unfortunately, the Zen is running the latest Zen firmware, which v2.8.0 doesn’t support. 2.8.3 is out, but it’s a source install, and my Linux skills are a little basic yet. As it’s only been out a few weeks, hopefully, someone will release a deb package for it soon.
And then Eclipse/Pydev didn’t work.

At least I got Java 1.5 on, thanks to Justin Freeman (see http://blog.agileware.net/index.php/archives/2005/09/30/how-to-install-java-on-ubuntu-linux/
