The naming of Nintendo’s console as Wii and not Revolution has upset some gamers. "Wii"? Are you joking?

Something I predicted to a friend a few days ago was that if it was a good enough console, then no-one would care about the name. And based on how much positive feedback Nintendo have received, it looks like they could be on to a winner.

I think they went for an uncommon name that they won’t be fighting for search placement. Revolution has hundreds of millions of hits that will relate to all sorts of topics. Wii will be almost entirely about the console (with a few hits for the Washington Internship Institute, Williamson Industries Inc and Wellness Institute International).
