Ubuntu on a Dell Inspiron 2500
I recently bought and fitted a new 60GB hard drive to my old Dell Inspiron 2500 laptop. The old 10GB drive just didn’t cut it, space wise, and it was a slow unit.
So, I took the old drive out, but before reloading everything, I decided to try and put Ubuntu Linux on.
I’m not going to go through the steps, but it really is no more complex than Windows to install. And with considerably less reboots. There’s flat-pack MDF furniture from Ikea that’s more complex than this.
I’ve got 1 problem, and any ideas gratefully received. I have a wifi card from Belkin, and it doesn’t play nice with Ubuntu. I could mess around with NDIS Wrapper and all that malarkey, but frankly, I’d rather not. And I don’t mind spending a few quid on some hardware that makes it easy. So, what’s the easiest wifi card solution for a laptop running Linux?
