Gayle’s one of out neighbours, and we’re in the same boat. I’m also concerned that starting 4 year olds on a full day may be too much for them.

The council’s reason for the change?

"The reason the change has happened is to bring us in line with other councils."

So, the welfare of the children of Swindon is based on what other councils are doing? Never mind whether they are right or wrong, we’ll just do the same.

I’m not an expert in childcare or education, and there may be some merit in sending children to school for a full day early. I’ll listen to arguments based on what may be best for my children. But an argument that "that’s what everyone else does" is no argument, and should be challenged.
