Next time you buy some flights online, there may be a way to save a few quid. On the same flight. In the same seats. Through the same website.
Airlines divide up the seats into a number of price allocations. If there are 50 seats at the lower price, and you get in when 49 have been sold already and buy 2, you buy number 50 and 51. Because 51 isn’t in the lower price, the airline charges you the higher price for both tickets.
So, next time you book, check the price of just 1 ticket, then the total price for the party. And if necessary, make multiple bookings.
