Ubuntu Feisty Beta RALINK problems
Posted on March 26th, 2007 by Tim Almond
I’ve been running Ubuntu Feisty for a week or so now, and thought I’d get the first beta. I was expecting a straightforward install.
In the beta, something called network manager has been added. This is a good addition, except that it’s incompatible with the RALINK chipset drivers (which I use).
If you’re getting problems with RALINK, you need to disable network manager and manually configure your wireless. As everyone’s is different, I suggest checking the following:-

Even if you aren’t running WPA with fixed IP, you should be able to cobble together your settings from that.
