Paleo-Future
I remember it like it was yesterday… being put into another teachers class in front of a giant Baird television so we could watch the launch of the first space shuttle. Being told by Raymond Baxter that in no time at all, this would revolutionise space travel and we’d all be going in to space as easily as crossing the Atlantic.
So, it’s interesting to read a new blog I’ve come across called Paleo-Future that takes all sorts of predictions for the future and puts them up for your enjoyment.
Some of these are just plain wrong, those from the 50s predicting flying cars for you and your wife with the beehive hairstyle. But quite a lot of them are fascinating because of just how much they got right. This piece from the Ladies Home Journal of 1900 is particularly good if you ignore the authors obsession with giant fruit and veg.
Now this is more than interesting, Tim. Yet how many predictions have been proved right, I wonder?
