The 50 Most Innovative Companies

For the third year in a row, the design-driven masters in Cupertino, Calif., lead the pack of creative firms on our list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies. Apple manages to dominate any would-be contenders, beating out two-time runner-up Google with more than twice as many votes.

I don’t share their opinion on Apple. Sure, they make some nice products. I’m even thinking of getting a MacBook. But I don’t believe that they are the most innovative company out there, particularly by this margin.

Personally, for the past 12 months, I’d be tempted to give the award to someone like Nintendo for the Wii, a console that has looked at gaming in a whole new way and created a new market of gamers who traditionally didn’t play.

Any suggestions out there?
