The White Stripes
I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to buy some White Stripes, because I think they’re a great band. There’s at least 3 singles that are in the best singles of the decade so far - Fell in Love with a Girl, Seven Nation Army and Doorbell.
So I’m glad that Skuds highlighted that the latest album, Icky Thump is up on emusic. I’ve checked and so is the rest of their catalogue. As they’re on XL Recordings, this also meant that The Prodigy are on there.
The thing with me and eMusic is that it’s priced below my risk point. I’ll buy the last Prodigy album because it works out about the same price as 2 double espressos (less than £4). I’m not going to take a risk on an album at £16.
I think I’ve found enough tracks to warrant at least a few months on eMusic. As well as those listen, there’s World Destruction by Afrika Bambaata, Surf City by Jan and Dean, The Draughtsman’s Contract and at least one album by The Cramps.
