Assistance in Sports
What with all the talk about Duane Chambers, and drugs in sports, why is there no outrage over this:-
Three world records have fallen less than a week after the launch of the Speedo LZR Racer - the suit to be used by the Australian and US teams at this year’s Beijing Olympics.
…
Grant Hackett, who produced his best times in the 200m and 400m freestyle for two-and-a-half years at the three-day NSW titles, felt there was something in the new outfits.
“The suits are a great product, they obviously do the trick and assist us in what we are trying to achieve,” he said.
If the idea behind banning drugs in sport is to try and make sure that one athlete can’t have an unfair advantage above and beyond their own self, then surely allowing suits that give an unfair advantage to one athlete over another is the same?
