Photography Laws

Curly has some great blogging about becoming as suspect at a fun fair after taking some pictures. Austin Mitchell had something similar happen and tabled an Early Day Motion on the subject and the whole thing’s been brought out into the open on the news and the BBC. Ministers have now made a clear statement […]

“Sent a Signal”

The Guardian
“These include expressing concern about the involvement of serious crime in the cannabis trade and sending a signal, as a government and as a society, that this drug is a danger to health.”
Ah yes. We’re such children that we have to be “sent a signal”. We can’t just be informed of the risks and […]

UKIP Meeting Quick Post

A bit tired, so I’ll keep it brief, but will post more tomorrow. Went to a meeting in South Marston (near Swindon) tonight where Nigel Farage, UKIP leader was speaking about Europe. Excellent speech, and a Q&A session where I felt that the questions where answered in a straightforward manner.

Vista “Work in Progress”

From SeattlePI.com
Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer called Windows Vista “a work in progress” on Thursday, but he stopped short of committing to extend the life of its predecessor, Windows XP.
I recently bought myself a new PC. I had a Mac and I didn’t see eye to eye with it. So, I asked around lots of […]

Nick Cohen on Blogs

From The Guardian
Kohnstamm’s story (about Lonely Planet) went everywhere because it challenged the belief that reference books, reports in serious newspapers, magazines, academic papers and journals are the result of a reliable process which produces accurate results.
The result of a reliable process which produces accurate results? Maybe that’s the standard that Nick Cohen sets himself, […]
