Ubuntu 7.10 in Virtual PC 2007

I’d prefer to run a proper dual-boot environment, but it’s quite a setup, so I tried setting up Ubuntu on Virtual PC 2007 using this guide.

The guide is about spot-on. The only two suggestions are:-

  1. Increase the memory to 1GB.
  2. Once the process is running, change it in Task Manager to use 1 processor as it seems to reduce keyboard repeats occurring.

  1. Pity I have a Mac.

  2. James,

You’ve a number of options for something similar on Mac. Bootcamp (which allows for easy dual boot), VMWare Fusion (for virtualisation) and Parallels (virtualisation too).

I’ve heard good things about VMWare Fusion.
