It’s obvious now where those billions of pounds have gone on NHS IT. It’s not just to build some straightforward data management system, but on something far more sophisticated:-

The bulk of the confused appointment bookings occurred on Friday, but a spokesperson for the NHS IT group Connecting for Health (CfH) said a handful of patients had been affected in the past 24 hours. He added that the system “seems to be correcting itself”.

The NHS IT system is a self-aware computer? For the billions of quid already spent that’s a bargain. Alternatively, the CfH spokesman is talking the sort of smoke-and-mirrors bullshit that salesmen usually use on non-technical people.
