Future of Britain Public Meeting, Swindon

Nigel Farage at Future of Britain Public MeetingOn 28th April 2008, there was a public meeting at the Nightingale Hotel, South Marston near Swindon on the subject of the Future of Britain. The speaker was Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party and covered a number of areas including Europe, but also many aspects of national and local politics too.

After the speech, there was a question and answer session, where I feel that Nigel considered each question before trying to answer as fully as possible. This was no obfuscation, and no attempt to suggest that there would be bread and circuses for all. It’s rare for a political leader to either understand or be willing to express, for instance, that an overinflated housing market is a good thing. To state that high prices mean there are people unable to afford to borrow.

So, a good evening, and I’m happy to have joined.

  3. Congrats! I hope you find, like many of us, that you have found your political home. I class Nigel as one of Britain’s best politicians. Open, honest, passionate and dedicated. Unfortunately rare qualities.
