Photosynth Test

At the recent Microsoft Remix 08 UK Conference, I was part of a group Photosynth trial. If you’ve not tried Photosynth, it’s a technology that takes flat 2d photographs and joins them to create a 3d animation.

I decided to try it for myself in the Old Town area of Swindon, which you can see here. You have to install the Photosynth plug-in (it would be nice if it were just Silverlight-based).

About the best Photosynth’s to see are those at the National Geographic channel.

Update: Photosynth is currently Windows only.
