I knew it was under Beta, so did some googling and hey presto! the best open source FTP client is available for Linux with just a hop, skip and a sudo apt-get away:-

I recently bought an old Thinkpad T41 to run Linux. I don’t need a particularly powerful machine for Linux needs, but my Dell laptop had a power supply that was glowing a little too hot for me to be comfortable.
