NPE Maps Addon

I’ve written a little utility using the NPE Maps data, a great project designed to geocode the UK. I needed it for something experimental, but I’m happy to share my utility.
The idea of the utility is to take each of the records that is in the NPE Maps outward + 1st inward database and create […]

paint.net

I’m more of a developer than a designer, so my needs for graphics tools are limited. It’s mostly resizing, making a large text image and perhaps a little image retouching. I don’t need Photoshop, and I find GIMP unfriendly.

100 minutes with Django

A few weeks ago, I sat down and spent about 75 minutes watching a video presentation about Django by Jacob-Kaplan Moss. In case you don’t click the link, it’s a Google TechTalks presentation called "django: Web Development for Perfectionists with Deadlines". I’m looking out for scenes to photograph, and I’ll post ‘em as I […]

New Website Live for Robert Buckland

We had a previous site, but we’ve moved platforms to Wordpress managed by us which gives a lot more flexibility in design.
It’s been […]

Netgear DG834G

Just replaced my old wired Netgear DG834 with a new wireless DG834G.
Compared to the old box, it’s tiny, about 1/4 of the size. It also seems to give better speeds in terms of initial downloads, and is much more stable for me (I’m having line trouble, but it’s much more tolerant.
It even comes with a […]
