Thresher’s Wine Deal

Via Ellee

No need for booze cruises, as Neville Hobson points out, because Threshers is giving bloggers a whopping 40% discount
on all wine and champagne bought between 30 November - 10 December. This offer is particularly novel as it is not being advertised or promoted anywhere other than blogsphere, not even in their own stores.

I know a little about the production of wine, not much about sales. Can Threshers really afford a 40% discount?

Anyway, Bottoms Up and Wine Rack are on the list who are pretty good. But I guess I’ll have to go elsewhere for my Romanee-Conti.

  1. Thanks for giving this a plug too, it will be interesting to see what they report at the end of the 10 days. I shall be meeting up with Hugh from Gapingvoid on Wednesday, I’ll try and find out how many bloggers have blogged about it.

  2. It’s I that should thank you.

I’m going to go for some Penfolds Bin 389, so I’ll save £12 on two bottles.

For fizz, I can recommend the Mumm Cuvee Napa. Not Champagne, but from California and made to the Methode Champenoise.

If you haven’t guessed, I used to be into wine quite seriously.

  3. Your recommendations sound good. I had a record number of hits yesterday with other bloggers picking up on this story and linking to my site.

  4. My hits are still soaring, yesterday was a new record for me, it really is amazing. I shall see Hugh from Gapingvoid this evening and mention it to him.

  5. WARNING:- This offer is being investigated by the OFT as they have inflated wine prices to cover lost margin and on nearly all quality wines are cheaper in Tesco’s after you take off tghe 40% discount.
